Our client, a leading sporting and cultural organisation, is currently inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the role of Compliance Specialist and support an amazing team during a 12 month contract.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the Data Protection strategy and associated policies and procedures, as well as monitoring and providing on-going support to all units of the Association on data protection and record management matters to ensure their compliance with legislative obligations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead Data Protection initiatives.
* Review, refine and implement the policies and procedures that bring the organisation into compliance with Data protection laws and practices.
* Monitor and oversee the implementation and application of appropriate Data Protection processes which shall include the completion of a data protection impact assessment.
* Oversee the record management policy.
* Inform and advise staff and Volunteers of their obligations relating to Data Protection and provide training and instruction where required.
* Provide ongoing advice and assistance in relation to data protection and record management matters.
* Cooperate with, and act as, the primary contact for interactions with the Office of the Data Protection Commission.
* Act as the primary contact point for members and other data subjects regarding data queries and Subject Access Requests.
VALUED SKILLS:
* Strong technical knowledge and understanding of data protection security systems and techniques.
* Professional experience and expert knowledge of European and National data protection laws and practices.
* Expert knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation and its implications.
* Ability to work well with all levels of the organisation in a professional manner.
* Excellent communication, presentation and training provision skills.
* Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Exceptional leadership and organisational skills.
* Experience in working in compliance or related areas.
* Excellent administrative and IT skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Strong analytical and reporting skills.
