Maintenance Technician
Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Permanent Contract

Overview of the Maintenance Technician Position:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful applicant will work as part of an Engineering and Maintenance team. They will work to key metrics in Health & Safety, Quality/Compliance, equipment up time, Customer Service (internal and external) and Cost. As the company moves toward further automation of established product processes, the open role presents an opportunity for growth and development of the successful candidate.

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for:
Planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical services, plant and equipment.
Calibration of in process equipment.
Machine and equipment effectiveness.
Identifying, sourcing, and replenishing spare parts.
Supervision of preventative maintenance by specialist vendors.
Attendance during commissioning of new plant and equipment.
Performance of equipment qualifications.
Development of Standard Operating Procedures for equipment.
Risk assessment of tasks and equipment.
Reporting on equipment issues.
Completion and review of documentation including calibration certificates, maintenance reports and investigation reports to current GDP and GMP guidelines.

Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will have a Level 6, Level 7 or Level 8 HETAC qualification in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical/Automation Engineering, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar.
Proven work history in the maintenance of mechanical systems in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Preferably at least five (5) years industrial experience in a regulated environment such as pharma, IVD or medical devices.
Desirable - Experience with machine networks, connecting to PLC / vision systems
Understanding of production operations, quality assurance/control and cGMP/GLP requirements.
Ability to show a high level of care and attention to all aspects of the role and show a desire to achieve excellence through own initiative.
Proven team player capable of working within multiple areas whilst maximising performance.

Skills and Behaviours:
Ability to trouble-shoot and correct technical issues, in an effective and timely manner, with a sense of urgency to minimize equipment downtime as a particular goal.
Ability to determine the root cause of technical issues using proven problem-solving techniques/critical analysis
Ability to effectively present information and answer queries.
Excellent communication skills, (both written and verbal) and be team focused.
Willingness and ability to collaborate with and influence other groups in a positive, team based environment.
