ROLE OVERVIEW

We have an excellent opportunity for a Regional Media Specialist to join the Public Relations Team who are pivotal in delivering on our client's business strategy.
This role will see you drive the delivery of results on an ambitious and innovative programme of communication.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and deliver on the delivery of regional media strategy as part of the overall PR Strategy
- Be an active and supportive member of the regional communications team to ensure alignment and delivery
- Deliver on regional media management, of both proactive and reactive content ensuring a high level of service internally and externally.
- Support and participate in the use of media metrics to drive and develop strategy
- Generate content for opinion pieces, paid for media - print and broadcast
- Develop and manage key regional media relationships
- Deliver on media training and preparation for regional spokespeople
- Maintain key messages
- Manage projects and other tasks within the PR function as required.

REQUIREMENTS

- A relevant third level qualification in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related discipline
- Ideally 3+ years of experience in a communications role which has included one or more of the following areas; journalism, media relations, corporate communications, public relations or public information campaigns.
- Proven track record in co-ordinating the work of others securing delivery against key targets and objectives
- Excellent communications (oral and written) and presenting skills
- Experience in managing sensitive information
- A positive, flexible, and ambitious team player
- Experience in a utility, engineering, energy or public sector environment is desirable.
