Our client is seeking to add a Regulatory and Policy Analyst to their Group Regulation team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with high-profile and experienced in the subject matter and industry professionals, across a variety of disciplines.
The Regulatory and Policy Analyst is pivotal in providing regulatory and commercial support in delivering our client's regular regulatory reports. You will assist in the development of positions on regulatory policy matters and determine connection charges for connecting new large scale strategic customers, having significant industry impact. This role is key in helping deliver our client's strategy to transform the power system.
In this role you will:
* Assist in carrying out our client's regulation function - tariff calculations, regulatory reporting, running public consultations and preparing recommendations for Commission for Regulation of Utilities approval
* Support the delivery of our client's annual revenue recovery requirements
* Research and analyse specific regulatory policy areas in support of senior members of the team
* Help co-ordinate the compilation of the business's regulatory deliverables
* Act as point of contact for specific regulatory and commercial deliverables with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities in respect of same
* Support the Group Head of Regulation and Team Leads in relation to strategic regulatory projects.
The valued skills sought in this role:
* Academic background in business, engineering or a closely related discipline
* Previous experience in a similar role, in a multidisciplinary environment
* Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities coupled with the ability to make reasoned judgements based on available information
* Ability to draft documentation in a rational, evidence-based, clear and concise manner
* High level of attention to detail and pride in one's own work
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, while also being able to define and guide work under minimal supervision
* Demonstrated flexible working approach with ability to lead and prioritise a wide range of demands and activities whilst maintaining a professional and positive focus
* Knowledge of and experience in, or working with, a regulated utility/ regulator is desirable.
